ABOUT CORRINA
Originally born in Bozeman Montana, Corrina has always had love for all mediums of art inspired by her extremely talented mother who taught her to create at a young age. As a long time cinephile, she decided as a child her life’s ambition was to become a filmmaker inspired by directors like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, John Carpenter, Wes Craven, and Sam Raimi. With a love for surreal horror, her favorite film of all time is Hausu (1977) Dir. Nobuhiko Obayashi.
Throughout her teenage years she actively participated in her high school's theater program winning state awards for her original scripts, costume design and construction, and acting performances. After moving to New York City and completing formal acting training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she has begun lending her talent to the bustling theater and film industry of New York City with work including photography, design, and film. She also makes custom clothing both for herself and friends.
“As a kid I found it difficult to believe I could ever become a successful director, because at the time women’s presence in the field was nearly non existent. I don’t want any little girl to ever feel discouraged in the way I was to pursue her passion. Beyond that, I want to give actresses characters and stories that are just as interesting and layered as their male counterparts, as I as an actor constantly felt roles for me were innately less interesting just because the character happened to be a woman.”
